All the political posts I was moved to write during the happy days of the the best President since Kennedy.

The faces on the Fox "News" anchors when they realized that the guy whose win was, they thought, in the bag, lost the election, was absolutely classic. The national nightmare was over, we thought. We finally had an honest, intelligent, educated, classy President who won by popular vote and had the majority of the American people behind him.

Was he a perfect President? Of course not. I disagreed with him on a number of issues. But we agreed on more than not; and he was always able to state his position clearly enough that one could, at least, understand where he was coming from.

And especially now, I would give anything to see him back in the Oval Office again.

Or is it, simply, the corporations that stand the most to lose if our current system is altered? The answers are easy to come by when you simply follow the money, which is a matter of public record.

In which I answer the most common questions I'm asked when straight people learn I'm gay.

Once upon a time, when a gay guy came out of the closet, he could expect to be met with scorn or derision from his former friends. So I'm told. That was not my experience, and from what I understand, unless one is Mormon or Southern Baptist it doesn't much happen at all these days. Instead, we are greeted with a barrage of questions, much as one might be if he revealed himself to be an alien (or a Log Cabin Republican, which is much the same thing). So, in the interest of satisfying the curiosity of those too timid to ask, I am going to address the most Frequently Asked Questions of gay men.

Let's reminisce about old TV shows and how they apply to the gay experience.

I wonder if the prevalence of gay men in fashion, and lesbians in women's sports, isn't because straight guys with a fashion sense, and straight women with sports skills, are simply too reluctant to reveal their secret powers! —While gays and lesbians, because we grew up knowing we were different, learned to deal with our differences and to make use of them, instead of suppressing them.
