My son, John, often travels to California with his partner and kids to see their grandparents. But they have two cats. So I'm lucky enough to have been asked several times to stop by and check on the cats while the humans are away. Here are some photos I took of them on these occasions.

By the time John turned 9, he was already quite an experienced camper. However, up until this point, all the camping trips he'd been on had also included the whole family. So I offered to take him and his friend, Steven, on a backpacking trip in the Shenandoah National Park.
